im 18 and planning on going to the uk next year and working for a year or 2 than backpacking once ive saved up enough. I'm still young and into partying and meeting the people. I was thinking somewhere in England but still have no idea. also i dont have a job in mind, just whatever i can get really, was thinking an office job or just a bar job. i am traveling on my own so i kind of want somewhere where i could meet people around my age. If anyone has any ideas this would be greatly appreciated.

Some good places such as London, Bristol, Brighton, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, York, Durham, Newcastle, Edinburgh or Cardiff seem to fit your bill...

London is one of the world's great cities. Why would you even consider living somewhere else? The rest of the country is just a hinterland.

Most Brits seem to have family in Australia, and Australians find it easy to integrate here. We like the Australian work ethic and attitude. The Poles seem to have pushed the Aussies out of bar jobs. Maybe think about an office temp job.

Will you be allowed to work on your visa? As these days most jobs are saved for EU residents unless you are highly skilled....

Anyway, if you like cities, London, Manchester and Edinburgh would be my suggestions. But there's all kinds, I would come here first and plan later :-)

We don't want any more Aussies thank you. Not you nor your Fosters and Skippy burgers.

We got enough criminals here already without bringing them back. Anyway as I understand you can only work 12 months during the 2 years ,, we don't want you taking our jobs either,
