The fine ingleton falls walk is very expensive, about £9 for a family. Is it possible to enter, for free, from the public footpath just above the falls. If you are in a car, can you can park on either the chapel le dale road, or the dent road, a mile or two outside of the village. Just take a look at a map {eg OS}.

I'd suggest you try looking at local independent jewellers. Many buy and resell 'preloved' jewellery which, since they are not brand new, tend to be cheaper. You also tend to find the gold is a better carat for less money than a new ring would be in similar or same styles with same or similar weight and clarity diamonds, all because they are not new! My engagement ring was exactly the style I wanted (floral cluster of diamonds) - currently not the height of fashion, so not available at the chain jewellers anyway! And I don't have the embarrasment of walking round with the same ring as hundreds of other B2Bs. (Only grannies :p) My ring is 7 small diamonds (total 0.3c) set in white gold on an 18c ring for £190. Ignore snobs who say you won't find anything. You will find something more individual and special if you take the time to look. Good luck and congratulations on your engagement!

You have to pay to walk the falls!!!?? Passed on the way home from Nelson on Tuesday, we were going to stop but decided to go back next Tuesday and spend the day. Not paying to go for a walk no matter how beautiful. We've seen it all before but it is such a shame that someone can cash in on a natural beauty!! On the Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria thing, some of my family are from Bentham and never know which county they are in from one year to the next. lol

The UK is England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland altogether,

Ingleton, Lancs is in England,

Are you one of these people who only calls England, the UK?

Ingleton is NOT in Lancashire. It's in North Yorkshire and always has been. I should know. I live not far from there.

When we do it, we park elsewhere in the village or area, then we do the walk backwards. They cant make you pay coming out, you can just walk past. Quite easy that way!
