You are guaranteed that it is genuine, and not someone trying to get you to pay for something which should be free, It doesn't always go into great detail - so sometimes you may need to find more specialised websites.

If you are looking for information about government operated services in the UK then it is the best website but if you are looking for information about government in general then it won't be any help to you

If you want to find out actual facts on something you want or need to do, such as how do you apply for benefits or how do you get a driving licence, then yes, it has the official information. But not for more general questions ABOUT government.

There must be hundreds of government related questions they're not interested in-like What's a dystopia? How did the Roman Empire fail? And so on.

for limited information that you can rely on for factual - the uk government website for travellers from uk is very restricted in quantity and reciprocal agreements with other nations so visitors travelling through need to rely on their own home bases or other sites for information.
