England flag is the St George Cross. The Union Jack is the flag of the United Kingdom. It combines the flags of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. And it really annoys the Welsh because theirs got left out.

Everyone has pretty much answered this one, but I wish my people on the other side of the Atlantic would understand that the flag of England is NOT the Union Jack. I work at an advertising firm here in Southern California, and we were putting something together for the USA v. England match a few weeks back, and my head nearly exploded from begging the project managers to switch England's flag logo from the Union flag to St. George's Cross. They thought I was insane, but if you're going to refer to England, use the English flag!!

Just had to get that one off my chest.

It is indeed the cross of St George that is the national flag of England. The Union Flag is the flag of the United Kingdom, it is only officially referred to as the Jack if it is being flown on a ship.

(Notice that all proper names/nouns start with a capital letter, as one person here continually appears not to know)

Kitty...you make yourself look totally foolish if you reprimand another user on this site and then get your facts wrong.

England's Flag is the Cross of St George

The Union Flag (aka the Union Jack, though being very anal it's only a 'Jack" if flown from a ship) is just the three Saints flags of

England (St George),

Scotland (St Andrew)

and Ireland (St Patrick)

overlaid on each other. Quite clever really.

The Welsh I'm afraid didn't get a look in, however no Welshman (or woman for that matter) worth their salt would accept that the Cross of St George as the Welsh flag !!

I actually regard the Welsh flag (Red Dragon on a green and white background)

to be one of the better UK flags.

St george's cross is englands flag...,

The union jack represents britain, so england, wales, scotland and northern ireland. The union jack flag is the british flag, for all of us.

Each country in the UK has its own flags, england the george's cross , wales the red dragon, etc etc etc ,but then the union jack basically represents all of us in britain.
