I have lived in Blackpool for 35 years, but I don't know where High Bank Farm is, so that influences my answer a bit - see below.
Firstly there are the usual quota of supemarkets including Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons, Aldi, Lidl etc. There is a 24 hour Tesco near the end of the M55. There are all sorts of shops, including butchers, fishmongers, bakers and anything else you care to mention but.......
Blackpool is a long straggly place behind the sea-front and, although there is a town centre, there are also several other areas containing shops. We locals refer to South Shore, the Centre and North Shore and more exact information from me on locations would depend upon which area you would be staying in.
Simply walking along the brand new sections of seafront is a cheap activity if it is dry.
Inland from the Tower is Stanley Park which is quite big, complete with boating lake.
Across the road from it is Blackpool Zoo. Behind it is Marton Mere wildlife reserve (a mere is a lake)
Strolling any of the three piers is an option.
The Pleasure Beach at South Shore is another. This is an extraordinary fun fair site which includes The Big One.
The Golden Mile running south fro the Tower is full of amusements if you like that sort of thing.
Taking a ride on either the very old heritage trams or the brand new ones on the brand new tram tracks to either Cleveleys or Fleetwood to the north is yet another option.
A short car trip to the south are the more genteel resorts of St Annes and Lytham.
About 45 minutes away by car is the historic small city of Lancaster.
A day trip to the Lake District (eg about 75 minutes to Windermere) is also possible as is Beacon Fell and the Trough of Bowland.
Enjoy ! I will be in Cornwall !
