I want to getaway for the weekend but not sure which to choose Lake District or Cornwall. I am looking for beaches but something different as well and where there is a wide choice of attractions and restaurants to choose from. With some night life but not too fussed about that. What would you suggest?

I would say Cornwall! I have been to both and love them both but I think that Cornwall has much better beaches and a better night life. There are plenty of activities to do in Cornwall depending on your personality from great walks to sunny beaches and from golden beaches to great restaurants!

Hope this helps

I am from the Lake District so i guess i am a bit bias in saying the Lake District has everything you are looking for , but it really does as it is a truly beautiful place , as is Cornwall and to be honest Cornwall probably has the better beaches but the Lake District really is a bit special . Enjoy your stay wherever you go .

I think Cornwall would be better suited for what you're after. Not much nightlife in the Lakes at all and you cannot beat Cornwall for incredible beaches. There's also more attractions in Cornwall too. The Lake District is ideal for a more sedate/walking holiday. Better chance of good weather down south too!

Have a great time whichever you choose.

at an identical time as the Lake District is greater picturesque, Cornwall is through plenty greater captivating. splendor is made up through somewhat some countless issues, consisting of character, style and so on, which Cornwall has. From the heathland of the west, to the golden beaches, to the old formed villages to the rugged coast of the North, and that i'd desire to assert the friendliest people I even have met at an identical time as traveling. Plus, the foodstuff is astounding. at an identical time as the Lake District has each and all the wonderful atmosphere and equisite perspectives, i've got self belief that Cornwall is through far the greater captivating.

This is a hard one...for what you are after I'd say Cornwall. It's nowhere near as dramatic as the Lakes (though is still very pretty) but it has more nightlife and restaurants.

Hope this helps, and have a lovely time :)
