I'm taking my family on holiday this summer to Ireland, we are driving and taking the Fishguard to Rosslare ferry using Stena Line, my question is, we've booked premium tickets, what is the earliest we can get on the ferry?, on the tickets it says checking in closes an hour before sailing.

You don't actually have to check in. You just join the queue of cars on the dockside and show your papers to the guy in the hut on the way through. Premium tickets just mean you get to sit in the posh chairs, in the posh lounge of the ferry.

You don't even have to get out of your car. I presented my tickets to the desk at Holyhead and they were like "yeah, just wait in you rcar"

You need to make sure that you are checked in at least an hour before the sailing. Premium ticket hldes are directed to special lanes and board first, usually about half an hour before sailing. You then make you way to the lounge.
