The whole UK and Republic of Ireland use Grenwich Mean Time (GMT) as our standard (also known as universal time, UCT)- that's the one slap bang in the middle of world time zones, in Grenwich, London in fact as it was from Grenwich observatory that world time zones were set.

However, from the last Sunday in March until the last Sunday in October, we go ahead one hour and use British Summer Time (BST).

Right now it is 21:23 BST, but if it were winter it would be 20:23GMT.
