Hi Rose N As other post have said Glasgow or Edinburgh. My preference would be Glasgow, it has a lot going for it and by far a better place for shops and travelling around. On the theme park idea there is two in the west of Scotland . One in Strathclyde Park and the other is at Louden Castle in Ayrshire, the first is within easy reach of Glasgow .Hope you enjoy the warm welcome of the scots.

Glasgow or Edinburgh. Glasgow has undergone a huge transformation and is great for museums, and shopping. Edinburgh`s main shooping street is like a building site at the moment as they build a tram network.
BTW Scotland does have theme parks.

Edinburgh is the capital city - your daughter might like the castle, the Royal Mile and the interesting shops and quaint historical "closes".
There is a Museum of Childhood (free to enter) Adults have fun there too finding their favourite childhood toys on display!
It is such a great city - especially in August for the Festival - people come from all over the world and there are shows for all ages.
Enjoy :)

Edinburgh. It is just the best place to go in Scotland.
Do the Royal Mile from top to bottom.
There are no theme parks in Scotland.
