Im in the US and I am trying to call England. I have the phone number I am trying to call, but I don't know how to put it in my cell and call. My phone company said something about a plus sign. (+) and then the city number and then the phone number.

I just need some help calling out there.

Nola Guy has the clearest right answer. All I would add is that when you're calling from outside the UK you must leave off the first 0 from the city code (or cellphone number). If you do as the first answer suggests and you leave off the second digit (1, 2, 7 or whatever) as well, nothing will happen.

To Call the UK

To call this destination dial: 011 + 44 + [local number]

Instead of the 02 or 01 or 07 at the start of the number, put 0044 and then the rest of the number...don't do it from your cell, it's cost so much money!
