Hi
I'm thinking to visit my uncle in England and spend a week over there like a vacation.
The airplane ticket is about 1300$
How much i should be looking to spend in this vacation( i gonna stay at my uncle's home) since i have a limited budget and i don't wanna over spend money...
Thanks

The cost depends where you will be and what you want to do.

If you are based in or close to London then you'll need a LOT of money. A typical day out for a tourist who wants to see and "do" all the touristy things in London will be at least £50-£70 including transport, admission tickets and meals.

If you are in somewhere like Bristol, Leeds, York, Birmingham or similar size places then your day "tourist" cost will be closer to £20-£30. There are loads of things to see and do in a week without going anywhere near London - and you will also find out that there is no such thing as a standard "British accent".

Please speak English when you arrive; your slang will not do you any favours in England. Ie you may get away with saying "wanna" and preceding statements with "like" when you're at home but it will really make you sound tacky and thick here.

That is to say: you either have a vacation or you don't; you cannot have "like a vacation", that doesn't make sense.

For areas of outstanding natural beauty the Lake District in Cumbria and the West Highlands of Scotland take some beating. The other information given on cost is correct.

Where in England? Just like visiting the USA, costs are likely to vary depending on location, as are your spending options.

Get a guide book or check out the sites you want to see and the transport you will be using- the info is available with any search engine or library
