Driving Age in the UK
The minimum driving age in the UK is currently 17 years old. If the government ever decided to change the minimum driving age, you would almost certainly here about it on national television well before the age was actually changed.
The current law states that:
You can't start to drive a car until you have a valid signed provisional driving licence in your possesion and are of the minimum driving age of seventeen.
( 16 years old if you receive the higher rate of disability )
Hi, no not yet, the government are proposing that you can start to learn to drive when you are 17 but can only take a test when you are 18. You have to be learning to drive for 1 year. And that will apply to everyone not just 17 year olds.
